Gearing Up for Fall Rides: ATV/UTV Maintenance Tips Before You Hit the Trails

Fall riding season in the Northwoods is one of the best times to hit the trails. Cooler temps, fewer bugs and vibrant scenery make for unforgettable adventures. Taking time to do a quick pre-ride inspection helps prevent breakdowns and extends the life of your ATV or UTV.

Here are a few must-do maintenance checks before your next ride:

  • Replace or clean the air filter to improve airflow, especially after dusty Summer trails.
  • Top off and check all fluids, including engine oil, coolant, brake fluid and power steering.
  • Inspect tires and brakes for wear, cracks and proper pressure.
  • Tighten bolts and fasteners, which can loosen from rugged riding and vibration.
